Tottenham Hotspur Player Asks For Explanation From Antonio Conte

JAKARTA - Tottenham Hotspur's Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, spoke about Antonio Conte's scathing comments. He asked the manager to "disentangle" the incredible explosion that put him on the verge of being sacked.

"We've all seen it," Hojbjerg told reporters while attending a training camp with the Danish national team.

"(It was) a very honest and very open press conference he gave. It's because he's not satisfied. You don't do that if you've reached the Champions League quarter-finals and if you're in the semi-finals of the FA Cup."

"It comes from the fact that, unfortunately, we don't get the results we want as a team and a club. We are still where we want and need to be in the Premier League. But yes, this is difficult, in my opinion," he continued.

Hojbjerg understands the boss's statement. He said, if you want to be successful as a team, you need 11 people who are committed to a project and culture.

"But I think he should explain how he feels before you as a player can start measuring and weighing," said Hojbjerg.

"The manager is not satisfied, and that's what I'm going to bring. You do what you can to please him. All I know about myself is that I'm an honest player. I'm a player who always gives 100 per cent of himself to the team."

When asked if he felt Conte was right to take the action he did, Hojbjerg replied, "Fortunately, I'm not the one to judge it."

"If that's what he saw, you have to be a little more precise so you as a player can remember him."

He confirmed Conte did not give his players an advance warning about the upcoming events at the press conference session.

"He didn't tell us what he wanted to say at the press conference," he said. "But it's clear that you work with each other every day, you want the best for each other and you want to be successful together. And sometimes the waves are high in football."
