Anticipating Ramadan Needs, Babel Increases Cooking Oil Supply 372.9 Tons
PANGKALPINANG - Anticipating an increase in public demand for Ramadan 2023 fasting, distributors of nine basic commodities of Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) will increase the supply of cooking oil by 372.9 tons.
Head of the Babel Islands Province Disperindag Tarmin AB, in Pangkalpinang, said that this week, 372.9 tons of cooking oil will be dismantled at Pangkalbalam Port.
"The addition of 372.9 tons of cooking oil supply is a step to strengthen cooking oil stocks in anticipation of an increase in public demand for fasting," he explained as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 18.
He added that currently the existing stock of cooking oil is 290.8 tons and is still sufficient to meet the needs of the community to welcome Ramadan fasting.
For the price, according to him, cooking oil for the Oilita brand still lasts Rp. 16,000 per liter, cooking oil for premium refills is Rp. 20,000 per liter, and simple cooking oil is Rp. 17,000 per liter.
Meanwhile, the price of bulk sugar lasts Rp. 14,000 per kilogram, the Blue Triangle monument survives Rp. 13,000 per kilogram, imported soybeans last Rp. 17,000 per kilogram.
"We are grateful that the price of this basic food is still under control and it is hoped that the public will not carry out wholesale actions that will trigger an increase in the price of this basic need," he hoped.
To anticipate the increase in the price of basic necessities, especially cooking oil, his party is working with distributors to also hold cheap market operations in districts/cities.
"We hope that distributors will continue to increase the supply of these basic necessities, so that there will be no increase in high prices that will burden the economy of the underprivileged," he ordered.
