Jokowi Approved The Increase In Rice Prices, This Is The Amount
JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (Bapanas) has decided to increase the latest retail price (HET) for rice. Both medium and premium rice, according to the mandate of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi said the increase in rice prices, both medium and premium quality, was for various regions in Indonesia.
The HET calculation is based on zoning. Starting from zone 1 for Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and Sulawesi.
Then zone 2 covers Sumatra other than Lampung, and South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Kalimantan. Also zone 3 for Maluku and Papua.
"For HET, medium rice zone 1 is Rp. 10,900 per kg. For zone 2 it is Rp. 11,500 per kg, zone 3 is Rp. 11,800 per kg," said Arief, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 15.
Then, continued Arief, for premium rice zone 1 IDR 13,900 per kg, and zone 2 IDR 14,400 per kg. Meanwhile, for zone 3 IDR 14,800 per kg.
Arief said the increase in rice prices would soon be announced. However, the announcement is still waiting for the regulations that oversee it to be completed.
"This is the President asking to be announced immediately. Meanwhile, the legislation is in process, so that this can be implemented immediately," he said.
For your information, the provisions of the HET of rice were previously regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade (Permendag) Number 5 of 2017 concerning the Determination of the Highest Retail Price of Rice.
Where in this regulation, the previous zone 1 medium rice price was limited to Rp9,450 per kg and premium rice was Rp12,800 per kg.
Then, for zone 2, HET medium rice is IDR 9,950 per kg, and premium is IDR 13,300 per kg. Meanwhile, zone 3, the price of medium rice is set at IDR 10,250 per kg and premium IDR 13,600 per kg.
