As Usual, Every Year Ahead Of Ramadan Beef Prices Rise

JAKARTA - Beef prices began to creep up at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 2023. The increase in beef prices continued to occur with a multiple of IDR 10,000 per kilogram from the normal price.

The price of beef was previously priced at Rp120,000 per kilogram. However, approaching the month of Ramadan, local beef prices continued to soar to Rp130 thousand per kilogram.

From Andi's statement, beef traders, the increase in meat prices is as usual as in previous years when entering the month of Ramadan.

"The price has increased to Rp130 thousand, later it will definitely increase again to Rp140 thousand. It will increase to Rp10 thousand from 1 week ago," he told reporters, Monday, March 13.

With the increase in beef prices, buyers complained. Even so, the sale of meat is still running normally.

"There are complaints but sales are normal. There is usually an increase before fasting, it will only fall after Eid. Hopefully, when fasting, the price of meat will decrease," he said.

However, as in the previous year, beef prices will continue to soar until they approach the upcoming Eid holiday.
