Avhath Satisfaction With Remedy Waloni In Return To Sender

JAKARTA - After struggling for a while, the members of the Avhath band can finally breathe a sigh of relief. His latest work with Remedy Waloni entitled Return To Sender can be released to music lovers. Unusually, this song lasts quite a long time from most songs in general, emptying 10 minutes.

In an interview with New Musical Express (NME) Asia in 2021, Ekrig -- vocalist Avhath-- once stated that he had an interest in working on Avhath's material with Remedy Waloni (The Trees & the Wild). Because he always admired the approach that Remedy applied in writing or producing a song. In the end, this dream came true with a new single entitled Return to Sender with a composition of songs almost 10 minutes long.

Throughout mid-2021 until the end of 2022, Avhath and Remedy ran workshops, recorded demonstrations, reviewed materials, experimented, and finally recorded their work in the studio. All these processes are carried out so that both parties find a point where their respective visions of Return to Sender are channeled and produce a rich output for the dynamics.

Remedy Waloni also conveyed his contribution in the process of composing the song Return to Sender. "After Avhath first played the draft Return to Sender, I was just trying to help them produce the song as naturally as possible," he said.

Reynir Fauzan added that he was very happy to be working with Remedy Waloni. "I'm very happy to be working with Remedy as a co-producer. Return to Sender is enough to describe Avhath's maturity for 10 years in terms of musicality and chemistry. Personally, I also see this momentum as the beginning of Avhath's new chapter," said Reynir, guitarist of Avhath.

Not only that, Ekrig also said, this song has complexity thanks to the results of its cultivation with Remedy Waloni.

"Runtime song shows that we had fun while working on it. Regardless of being Avhath's longest song, we feel this song has good flow. Return to Sender is a journey through complexity, an experience presented as a result of Avhath and Remedy's experimentation," said Ekrig.

For information, Return to Sender is a new approach for Avhath in terms of structure, sound texture, recording methods, and others different from previous works.
