Dragged By The Bandang Lahat Flood, South Sumatra, The Body Of A 6th Grade Elementary School Boy Was Found 90 Km From A Lost Location
SUMSEL - A boy became a victim of being swept away by flash floods in Lahat Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel). The body of the 6th grade elementary school student was found at around 12.00 WIB, Thursday 9 March.
Head of the Palembang National SAR Agency Office, Hery Marantika, said the boy with the initials GD (11) was a resident of Bandar Agung, Lahat.
At that time the victim's body was found by the team in the field swept away by a 90-kilometer current from the initial location reported missing.
He explained that GD was reported missing when he was swept away by flash floods while swimming in the Lematang River, Muara Siban, Pulau Pinang, Wednesday, March 8 evening.
The SAR team immediately conducted a sweep along the river with the Aqua Eye submarines along with residents.
However, based on the Antara report, conditions were not possible, the SAR team decided that the search process would be continued on Thursday, March 9 morning and in the afternoon the victim was found.
When found, the victim was wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
Information gathered from the SAR team in the field, currently the body of the victim GD has been handed over to the family for further burial.
