BRem Blong Truck Overlaps 2 Private Cars In North Maluku Kills 4 People, Jasa Raharja Guarantees Treatment And Compensation

SULUT - The fuel tanker truck suffered a failed brake on two private cars on Jalan Trans Sulawesi on Wednesday, March 8 evening. The accident claimed the death toll of 4 people and 3 others were injured.

Head of PT Jasa Raharja North Sulawesi Branch, Amaluddin Salam, said that all the costs of the accident victims in Munte Village, Tumpaan District, South Minahasa Regency (Minsel), North Sulawesi (Sulut) were borne by Jasa Raharja.

"After receiving information on the incident, Jasa Raharja and the local police immediately went to the location to collect data on the victims to accelerate the delivery of compensation," he said in Manado, Thursday, March 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

Amaluddin said all victims, both those who died and were injured, were guaranteed by Law no. 34 of 1964 concerning Mandatory Passenger Accident Accountability Funds.

In accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia No. 15 of 2017, he continued, the deceased received compensation of Rp. 50 million which was handed over through a transfer mechanism to the legitimate heirs.

"For injured victims, we have issued a letter of guarantee for care (guarantee letter) to the hospital, by covering a maximum maintenance fee of Rp. 20 million," he said.

Amal said that the compensation provided by Jasa Raharja was a guarantee of basic protection for traffic accident victims, as a form of government empathy and a form of state presence through Jasa Raharja.

The accident involved the three vehicles, which occurred when the truck carrying BBM number B 9902 SFU, which was moving from Manado to Amurang.

Arriving at the scene of the incident, precisely on Jalan Trans Sulawesi, Munte Village, the truck experienced a failed brake and then rolled over and then pressed two Toyota Avanza DB 1223 QL minibus vehicles and DB 1292 QL in front of it.

The incident left four people dead and three people injured. Currently, all victims have been evacuated to a nearby hospital.
