Supporting Plumpang Depot Relocation To Pelindo Land, Kadin: Position Now Is No Longer On The Edge
Deputy Chairperson of Kadin (Indonesia) for Agrarian, Spatial Planning & Area Sanny Iskandar said the decision to transfer the Pertamina Plumpang Depot, North Jakarta, was correct.
"In my opinion, the government has made the right decision because the current depot location is no longer on the edge," Sanny told reporters at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 8.
According to him, the location of the Pertamina Depot along Yos Sudarso Street is not the right place. Because, it is in the middle of dense settlements.
"Currently, the position (Pertamina Plumpang Depot) is no longer on the side, yes, if we look at the road along Yos Sudarso, the depot refineries and all kinds of things should be (shifted)," said Sanny.
"Maybe there are pluses and minuses, yes, but maybe with a consideration between pluses and minuses which one allows for something better, finally the depot is moved," he added.
Regarding whether the preparation of the Pelindo area (Indonesian Port) is qualified or not, Sanny is reluctant to comment further.
"Regarding the problem of the preparation area in Pelindo, I'm sorry I don't understand, Pelindo should have been talked to as well," he concluded.
Previously, PT Pelindo (Persero) was ready to follow up on the direction of the Ministry of SOEs regarding the plan to relocate the Plumpang Fuel Terminal (TBBM) belonging to PT Pertamina (Persero) to the Port area.
Regarding the discourse on moving TBBM to the port area, Pelindo is currently carrying out further construction in the area at the NewPriok terminal, where there is an area designated as a Product Terminal. This area can be considered as a new location for TBBM. The land as referred to will be ready in 2024.
"The Production Terminal location that we have prepared will be located right on the watersfront, so that it will make it easier to unload oil and gas from the ship to the terminal and vice versa," Ali explained in his statement, Wednesday, March 8.
