Snoop Dogg Becomes The Co-Founder Of The Live Streaming Shipler Application That Uses Web3 Technology
JAKARTA - Rapper and US actor Snoop Dogg were revealed to be co-founders of a live stream application backed by Web3 called "Shiller" which adds to the list of other Web3 partnerships for this famous hip-hop artist.
This application is described as a live broadcast platform that aims to combine Web3 technology with real-time live streaming content. Snoop Dogg is said to be one of the founders of this application along with technology entrepreneur Sam Jones. This follows a wave of Web3 partnerships by Snoop Dogg last year.
In April last year, Snoop Dogg teamed up with the metaverse Sandbox to launch an NFT collection called "Snoop Avatars" and released a hip-hop single titled "A Hard Working Man", which was then equipped with 50,000 NFT drop.

The rapper also partnered with Yuga Labs - the team behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and CryptoPunks - to appear on stage which was turned into a metaverse at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 29.
Snoop Dogg recently also partnered with crypto casino Roobet, where he will be the company's "Chief Ganjaroo Officer", according to a statement from Roobet on March 1.
As for Shipler, blockchain will be a major feature on the platform, which allows content creators to "lock tokens" from its broadcast and promote non-fungible tokens or other products from e-commerce websites. This content creator can be paid in cryptocurrencies such as Ether or NFT, which can be disbursed as fiat.
Shiller's launch appears to be part of a broader creator's economic movement where Web3 is likely to play a role. While "Web1" allows users to write HTML and read content, "Web2" allows user interactions to users - which are brought to society by several social media monopolies, such as Facebook, Google, and YouTube.
The "Web3" movement aims to eliminate this intermediary by providing full content owners with content and monetization that flows from it. Decentralized messaging platforms are starting to emerge as well, with one of them named "Damus" trying to become a "witon killer".
Supported by Jack Dorsey, Damus launched on the Apple App Store on February 1. The platform builds on a decentralized network that allows encrypted private messages to end, called "Nostr". The platform is equipped with an integrated Bitcoin payment on the Lightning network.
