Former Natuna Regent Raja Amirulla And 4 Other Defendants Sentenced Free Of Housing Allowance Corruption Cases

TANJUNGPINANG - Tanjungpinang District Court (PN), Riau Islands (Kepri) acquitted five defendants in the alleged corruption case in providing housing allowances for the leadership office and members of the Natuna Regency DPRD for the 2011-2015 fiscal year."The defendants were acquitted of all primary charges and the subsidiary of the public prosecutor or prosecutor," said Chief Judge Anggalaton Boang Manalu reading his verdict at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Tanjungpinang District Court, Antara, Monday, March 6.The five defendants included two former Natuna Regents, namely King Amirullah and Ilyas Sabli.Then Hadi Candra as the former chairman of the Natuna DPRD for the 2009-2014 period, Makmur as the former Secretary of the Natuna DPRD for the 2009-2012 period, and Syamsurizon as the former Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Natuna for the 2009-2016 period.The judge considered that the defendants were not proven to have committed a criminal act of corruption as in the primary indictment and subsidiary of the prosecutor."Also restore the dignity and dignity of the defendants at the position they have," said the judge.Responding to the judge's decision, both the prosecutor and the defendant were given seven days to determine whether to accept the verdict or file an appeal and cassation legal action.The five defendants were previously charged with four years in prison each by Public Prosecutor Jimmy of the Natuna District Attorney (Kejari).In addition to being charged with corporal punishment, the five defendants were also required to pay a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to six months in prison. In fact, one in five defendants, namely Hadi Candra, was required to pay compensation (UP) worth Rp. 345.5 million.In his indictment, the Public Prosecutor assessed that the five defendants violated the provisions of Article 2 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code as the primary indictment of the public prosecutor.
