KY Receives Report Of Alleged Violations Of Central Jakarta District Court Judges In Election Postponement Decision

The Indonesian Judicial Commission (KY) received reports of alleged violations of the code of ethics and code of conduct of judges by the panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) related to the decision to terminate/delay the general election stage (election).

"The Judicial Commission has received a coalition team for the Clean Election. Friends have submitted public reports on the Central Jakarta District Court decision case regarding the postponement of elections. The case is actually a civil lawsuit," said KY Chairman Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 6.

In accordance with the duties and functions, KY will follow up on the report with various methods to explore the case, one of which is by summoning the judge or the Central Jakarta District Court to seek further information about the decision.

On that occasion, Mukti Fajar emphasized that KY was not at all authorized to examine the decision of the Central Jakarta District Court regarding the postponement of the election. However, his party will continue to monitor related to legal efforts, both appeal and cassation.

"We will continue to oversee the case because we think this is quite a big problem," he said.

Therefore, he said again, KY also asked for help from the civil society coalition, the mass media, and the public in general if they found or received other information so that the institution could more optimally resolve the case.

The civil society coalition report was received directly by the Chairman of KY Mukti Wajar Nur Dewata along with members of KY as well as the Head of the Judicial and Investigation Supervision Division Joko Sasmito.

It is known that the Central Jakarta District Court granted the Prima Party's lawsuit against the General Election Commission (KPU) not to carry out the remaining stages of the 2024 General Election and carry out the election stages from the beginning for approximately 2 years 4 months 7 days.
