Real Madrid Reluctant To Give Up Chasing Barcelona

JAKARTA - Real Madrid again failed to get full points in La Liga Spain. The team nicknamed Los Blancos played a goalless draw in the 24th row at Benito Villamarin Stadium, Monday, March 6 in the morning WIB.

An additional one figure made Real Madrid fail to cut the gap with Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga standings.

Los Blancos are now sitting in second place with 53 points, 9 points behind their eternal rivals at the top. Barcelona themselves picked up three points in the same week after beating Valencia.

Despite being left far enough behind, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, was reluctant to give up. He said there was still a chance to catch up.

"This (chasing Barcelona) is not impossible. It will be very difficult, very complicated, but we have no doubt we will fight until the end," Ancelotti told Movistar, after the game.

"Of course this result affects the team. Otherwise, you won't have any room to develop," he continued.

Real Madrid actually appeared to dominate throughout the game and recorded 15 chances. However, only five are on target.

Regarding his team's performance against Betis, Ancelotti said, "It was a tough game for us."

"We knew we could do better in terms of attack efficiency. We had chances but lacked efficiency. This is the reality."

"We have scored only one goal in our last three games. We have the quality to do better. We know at times like this we have to do better," he concluded.
