Police Arrest Pimp on the West Coast of Lampung

WEST COAST - The West Coast Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team, Lampung, arrested an alleged perpetrator of the crime of trafficking in persons at a hotel in Walur Village, South Krui District, West Coast District, Lampung.

"Officers arrested one suspected perpetrator with the initials N (24) from Teluk Pekon Marang, Pesisir Selatan District", said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Coast Police, Iptu Riki Nopariansyah, reported by ANTARA on Friday, March 3.

The arrest of the perpetrators began with information from the public, that the alleged perpetrator N often carried out the crime of trafficking in persons with the modus operandi of offering several women commercial sex services via WhatsApp.

"Initially the team undercover ordered a woman who could serve, contacted the suspect with the initial N via WhatsApp, N said there were several friends who could be invited at various rates, then agreed to choose a woman with the initial P for IDR 500 thousand, after that the alleged perpetrator took IDR 500 thousand and immediately picked up P and then took him to a hotel in the area", he said.

Then he said, the team immediately secured the suspected perpetrator N and his friend with the initials P. From the results of the interrogation, P was contacted by N to carry out these illegal activities.

The perpetrator admitted his actions and activities like this had been going on for three months.

"From this activity, the perpetrator admitted that he received a fee or monetary reward, both from the man who ordered it and from the woman", he said.

The evidence that was successfully secured was a witness with the initials P and some money, a cellphone, and a motorbike.

Now the perpetrators must be held accountable for their actions, as meant in Article 2 paragraph 1 of Law No. 1 of 2007 or Article 12 of Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning TPKS which carries a penalty of 15 years in prison.
