KPAI Responds The Increase In Status Of AG From Witness To Become Perpetrator In Mario Dandy Satrio Case

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) highlighted the determination of AG status from a witness to a perpetrator in the persecution case committed by Mario Dandy Satrio (20) and Shane (19) against a minor victim with the initials D.

According to KPAI, Metro Jaya Police has worked professionally in handling cases of violence involving children.

KPAI chairperson Ai Maryati Solihah said her party supports the increase in cases from children facing the law (ABH) turning into children in conflict with the law. KPAI also highlights that with children in conflict with the law, there are efforts from the police to be serious, professional, and measurable in developing this legal process.

"Because when there is an act of violence, an act against the law, no one can escape the law. That is what is optimized with sufficient time to carry out investigative and investigative steps," said Ai Maryati to VOI, Thursday, March 2, evening.

While the process of examining AG, KPAI stated, AG had undergone an intensive examination under the supervision of KPAI. AG was said to be very cooperative in the examination.

"It is the handling of the (legal) process that must be encouraged to be bright and this is carried out by the PMJ (Polda Metro Jaya) and the Polres," she said.

In addition, from the supervision of KPAI, it is certain that AG's legal process during examination by investigators is not in a detrimental and dangerous situation. AG's examination was carried out in a process that was convenient for AG by investigators.

"The increase in status is based on the findings of Polda Metro Jaya evidence, this is part of the disclosure so that the hopes of the public who want (this case) are bright. I think the Police have carried out that mandate, and the KPAI has also provided the findings and protected the child. This we must respect (child protection) and encourage this legal process to be carried out according to legal corridors," she said.

Previously, the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police Kombes Hengki Haryadi said, the status of AG, Mario Dandy's girlfriend, had been increased.

"There was a change in status from AG, which initially was a child facing the law, changed to or increased in status to a child in conflict with the law or in other words turned into a perpetrator," said Hengki at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday, March 2.

The increase in AG's status was based on digital forensic examinations carried out by investigators, both from WhatsApp chats, and videos on cellphones including CCTV recordings.

"After we conducted an examination involving digital forensics, we found new facts, evidence of WA chat, and video on the cellphone, then we said that we also found CCTV around the crime scene so we could see the role of each person at the crime scene," said Henry.
