RMK Energy Transported 623.9 Thousand Tons Of Coal In January, The Highest In 5 Years

JAKARTA - PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) managed to record an increase in coal shipments of up to 99.67 percent (year to year) in January 2023.

The company managed to transport 623.9 thousand tons of coal in January 2023. The reason is that this is the highest volume of low-season coal services for the last five years.

RMKE Finance Director Vincent Saputra in a statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, said that the volume of coal services reached 5.77 percent of the 2023 target.

From the coal sales segment, he continued, RMKE managed to sell 135.10 thousand tons of coal in January 2023, which was the highest low-season coal sales volume for the last 5 years.

He said the coal sales volume reached 4.85 percent of the 2023 target.

Based on the operational segment, he said coal sales and services each contributed 17.80 percent and 82.20 percent.

His party explained that the company will focus on completing the hauling road project which will be integrated with several mines in Muara Enim, including the mine owned by PTBA in 2023.

"This year RMKE targets to be able to transport 10.8 million tons of coal and sell 2.78 million tons of coal," said Vincent quoting Antara, Wednesday, March 1.

Of the total coal sales volume, PT Truba Bara Banyu Enim (TBBE), RMKE's in-house mine, will contribute 2.1 million tonnes of coal.

He explained that the hauling road will be integrated with the Gunung Megang loading station owned by RMKE, so that it can support the company's operations to provide seamless coal logistics solutions in South Sumatra.

This coal logistics service issuer continuously sees opportunities for collaboration in the energy sector to increase the volume of coal services and sales in the future.

RMKE recorded a net operating profit that increased 153.9 percent year on year (yoy) to IDR 296.37 billion until the third quarter of 2022, which was driven by an increase in operating income which increased by 121.66 percent to IDR 1.9 trillion.

The increase in coal sales revenue was supported by an increase in coal sales volume which increased by 38.36 percent yoy to 1.62 million tons until September 2022.
