Telkomsel And ZTE Focus On Utilizing 5G In Indonesia's Enterprises

JAKARTA - Telkomsel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ZTE Corporation, a provider of information and communication technology solutions, to strengthen its collaboration in developing the use of 5G services for the Enterprise Segment (corporate) in Indonesia.

Inaugurated at the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, the signing of the Mou was carried out directly by Wong Soon Nam as the Chief Planning and Transformation Officer of Telkomsel and Mei Zhonghua as SVP ZTE, on February 27.

"As a digital transformation enabler, Telkomsel continues to present various innovative solutions according to the needs of the industry in Indonesia to accelerate digital transformation. Through the Telkomsel Enterprise unit, we are committed to becoming a powerhouse providing integrated digital solutions that is ready to help corporations open up more opportunities to accelerate sustainable business growth," said Wong Soon Nam, Telkomsel's Chief Planning and Transformation Officer in a statement.

The new strategic partnership with ZTE is also expected to continue to open up more potential progress for corporate customers to collaborate and accelerate while strengthening the spirit of achieving Industry 4.0 more inclusive and sustainable in Indonesia.

"We are pleased to be collaborating with Telkomsel in our efforts to continue to build a 5G entertainment market in Indonesia. ZTE and Telkomsel have collaborated in 5G for several years, and in this collaboration, ZTE will provide its newest 5G enterprise solution to Telkomsel," said Mei Zhonghua, SVP ZTE.

Through this collaboration, both parties will work together in developing new product and service solutions by adopting cloud PC technology, centralized management, and sharing computing, storage, and network resources.

In addition, either ZTE or Telkomsel will also explore cooperation opportunities in the study of Air-to-Ground 5G network technology which in addition to being able to provide high-speed broadband services, but also affordable for airline passengers, which is expected to increase airline operational efficiency and security.
