WSBK 2023 At The Mandalika Circuit, 2,367 Security Personnel Deployed
NTB - The World Superbike (WSBK) racing event at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), will be held 3-5 March 2023. The NTB Police will deploy 2,367 joint personnel for security.
NTB Deputy Chief of Police Brigadier General Ruslan Aspan explained that the joint personnel came from elements of the TNI, Polri, and government agencies.
"So, of the total 2,367 people involved, consisting of the TNI, Polri, and government agencies with 2,200 personnel. The remaining 167 personnel are BKO (under operational control) from the Bali Police, East Java, and the National Police Headquarters," he said after the 2023 WSBK Security Forces were held at the Bhara Daksa Polda NTB Field, Tuesday, February 28, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said the number of apparatus personnel assigned for security or BKO during the 2023 WSBK was reduced from the previous event.
"However, this smaller number of BKOs has proven that NTB is considered capable of securing international activities of the WSBK class," he said.
The Deputy Chief of Police added that the WSBK security task took place from 1 to 7 March 2023. All joint personnel have received directions regarding the security location.
The security pattern in the field, continued Ruslan, is still the same as the implementation of the 2022 WSBK and MotoGP events, especially related to security disturbances at the time of implementation.
"In principle, security is ready and the safety of the people is the main thing," he said.
In the mandate to the personnel on duty, Ruslan reminded that this event is internationally standard so that NTB as the host must be able to ensure public safety by creating a safe situation.
"Don't let the good image of the WSBK and MotoGP events previously become tarnished in the 2023 event," he said.
The Deputy Chief of Police also requested that cross-sectoral coordination remain strong in the field. To all security personnel, Ruslan also asked to use this task as a field of worship.
"Don't forget to maintain mental and physical health. Stay alert and anticipate as early as possible potential disturbances that will disrupt the implementation of activities. But, remember, carry out security professionally and humanely," he said.
