DPR Reminds Tax Officials To Obey Reporting LHKPN To KPK

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, asked officials from the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance to obey the LHKPN's assets to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Dasco said this was a response from the actions of a family member of a tax employee, according to him, this case of abuse had begun to be mixed with various things, including the parents of the victim and the perpetrator.

The leadership of the DPR RI in charge of the Financial Coordinator (Korekku) assessed the voices of the people who stated that they did not want to pay taxes that arose as a result of the abuse case.

He also considered that not all tax employees did things as alleged. Dasco also emphasized the importance of LHKPN reports for public officials.

"Of course there is a provision that the official must submit the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN)," said Dasco in his statement, Tuesday, February 27. Politicians from the Gerindra party faction saw that not all officials of the Directorate General of Taxes deviated. According to him, there are still many officials who report their sources of wealth clearly.

"Not all tax people behave like what they are suspected," he said.

He also asked the KPK to directly check the reasons why officials of the Directorate General of Taxes are lazy to report LHKPN. "It must be checked properly what caused them not to report their assets," said Dasco.

Dasco added that the handling of the persecution case involving Mario Dandy, son of official Directorate General of Taxes Rafael Alun Trisambodo, was not associated with other matters. He wants other crimes that Rafael allegedly committed to be thoroughly investigated if sufficient preliminary evidence is found.

In my opinion, the case in the process is separated from other things, so if the case is criminal, then please process it according to existing regulations. For other things, there is, later if it is enough to fulfill the elements, it will be increased to another investigation," he added.
