Deputy Minister Of Trade Jerry: Warehouse Resistance System (SRG) Raising Farmer's Welfare
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) Jerry Sambuaga believes that the Warehouse Resion System (SRG) can empower farmers. This means that the resulting commodities are able to provide economic value in the form of guarantee value that can be used to obtain credit from banks and non-bank financial institutions with low interest.
"The government encourages farmers, farmer groups, cooperatives, and the world of small and medium enterprises in Indonesia to make maximum use of SRG in order to increase their productivity. This will increase competitiveness in the national economy," he said in a release in Padang, West Sumatra, quoted on Sunday, February 26.
According to Jerry, SRG is one of the government's initiatives to provide effective access to financing.
Through SRG, goods owners can use their commodities as collateral to obtain financing without the need for other collateral. In addition, it can be an access to financing that can be used by business actors from upstream to downstream. The financing provided can certainly help the liquidity of goods owners, either to obtain better prices or increase their business scale," said Jerry.
He added that the strengthening of SRG was also carried out in 2023 through the addition of commodities that could be warehoused. He said, the government is trying to keep SRG growing so that business actors can take advantage of it.
"The establishment of a commodity trade ecosystem is homework for us together to support economic development that is beneficial to the wider community throughout this country. The government through the Ministry of Trade provides support with a mechanism so that the downstream trade sector will continue to develop and be profitable," he said.
SRG can be an access to financing that can be used by business actors from upstream to downstream. The financing provided can certainly help the liquidity of the owner of the goods, either to get a better price or increase the scale of the business.
