Fugitive Illegal Mining Cases In Serang Successfully Arrested, Perpetrators Have Been Detained In 2019
SERANG - An illegal mining actor in the Kopo District area, Serang Regency with the initials W (49) was finally arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Serang Police, at his hiding place in the Ciomas area, Serang Regency.
W, who was previously named a suspect in an illegal mining case by Unit II of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Serang Police, fled (uncooperative-ed) and was finally arrested.
Serang Police Chief AKBP Yudha Satria said suspect W was suspected of having carried out a mining business without official documents. So, his party named the person concerned as a suspect," said Yudha.
"When the investigation was about to be carried out as a suspect, W had fled to one of the Pondoks in the Ciomas area. However, thanks to the hard work of the officers, we managed to secure W," Yudha said in an official statement, Sunday, February 25.
Yudha continued, W had previously been detained in 2019 with the same case. And for today's mining activities, W has been operating for one month until he was finally secured again.
"It has been operating for one month, with a deposit of 1000 rits, but W has only sold 18 rits," he said.
For his actions, suspect W was charged with Article 158 of Law Number 3 of 2020 concerning Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2009, with the threat of being sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion.
