This Is A Way To Fulfill The Fulfillment Of Child Nutrition For Parents Who Are Not ABLE To Buy Milk

JAKARTA - Professor in the field of Community Nutrition and Family Resources, Bogor Agricultural University, Ali Khomsan provides a way to get around the fulfillment of children's nutrition for parents who have not been able to buy milk.

This tip is faced due to widespread obesity in infants and children due to routinely being given a strong sweet, or known as sweet condensed milk (SKM).

"The milk content at strong and sweet is very minimal, 60 percent of which are carbohydrates formed from sugar and the remaining 30 percent are fat," he said, quoted from Antara, Saturday, February 25.

Meanwhile, babies and children need a variety of nutrients ranging from calcium to high protein for growth and development.

The high price of formula milk often urges parents to replace it with a strong sweet that is far affordable.

But this, according to Prof. Ali is dangerous for infants and children because it can cause obesity which can cause a variety of deadly diseases such as jatung, to diabetes mellitus.

Ali said, one of the efforts to fulfill children's nutrition if there is no milk available, can be circumvented with other animal protein such as eggs.

"The protein is very high, and the price is quite affordable, fish meat is also high in protein," he added.

In addition, sources of plant-based such as tempeh, tofu, and nuts can also be an alternative.

Spinach also contains good calcium and iron, while bananas can help absorb the iron and calcium.

Children need protein and calcium in a balanced amount to support their immune system, so they are not susceptible to disease. This compound also plays an important role in supporting bone growth.

Even so, Ali said that until now no one has been able to replace nutrition from milk, especially calcium.

"Because the nutrition in milk is very high, but we can provide other food," Ali explained.

For this reason, Ali did not forget to remind the government to continue to intensify social assistance related to the fulfillment of child nutrition, especially at the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu).

"Because posyandu is the closest guard to the community to the villages," Ali added.
