La Liga Spanyol: Real Madrid Vs Atletico Madrid Preview

JAKARTA Hot matches will be presented in the continuation of the 2022/2023 Spanish La Liga in the morning. Two teams from the Spanish capital, namely Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, will clash.

The 23rd week of the Matador Country's highest caste will be held at the headquarters of Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabewu Stadium, Sunday, February 26, 2023. Kick off the match starts at 00.30 WIB.

The home team will enter this match after winning five consecutive wins in all competitions. Two of them were against Al Ahly and Al-Hilal in Morocco earlier this month to secure the 2022 Club World Cup trophy.

They also won the last two matches in La Liga Spain against Elche and Osasuna. In those two wins Carlo Ancelotti's men were able to score as many as six goals and did not concede at all.

Meanwhile, the latest win came in the middle of this week in the first leg of the last 16 of the European Champions League against Liverpool at Anfield. In that match Los Blancos came from two goals behind to win with a score of 5-2.

"I think this team is in very good shape. We came home from the European Champions League match with a positive feeling and good mood," said Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Currently, the Italian tactician's team is in second place in the standings board. They are eight points behind leaders of the Barcelona standings.

Meanwhile, Atletico is in fourth place and has a ten-point difference from the capital's rival team. Los Rojiblancos' position in the top four standings is not yet safe.

The reason is, they are only four points ahead of Real Betis' fifth-placed team. Therefore, they need to pursue victory at home to Madrid to secure their position.

However, the mission to get three points looks like it will be very steep for Atletico. The reason is, Madrid is currently unbeaten at home in the 2022/2023 league competition season.

In addition, Rojiblancos also has a bad record of not having beaten El Real in La Liga when they traveled to Bernabeu since 2016. This note is clearly an indication of the magnitude of their duties in this match.

However, Diego Simeone's foster children are a fresher team against the duel in the early hours of the morning. That's because they are not currently playing on the European scene following their disappointing performance in the group stage of the European Champions League.

In that event, they finished at the bottom so they had no hope in the Blue Continent. In addition, they have also been eliminated in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals after losing to Madrid at the end of January.

Therefore, Simeone's squad only needs to focus on the league for the remainder of the season. Their hope in the only remaining event they will participate in is to be able to finish the season in the top four in order to get to the European Champions League next season.
