Praying The Body Of An Indonesian Citizen Who Was Killed By A Turkish Earthquake, Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture: They Are Heroes, Best Return

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy asked two Indonesian migrant workers who died as a result of the Turkish earthquake to be honorably repatriated, ahead of the return of their bodies to the country.

Arriving in Adana, Turkey, Tuesday night local time, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir immediately took the time to lead the funeral prayer for Indonesian citizens who were victims of an earthquake who were Muslim from Lombok, Irma Lestari.

Accompanied by the Head of BNPB Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, Indonesian Ambassador to Turkey Lalu M. Iqbal and a number of other officials, Minister Muhadjir took the time to meet with Indonesian citizens who survived the earthquake and will be facilitated to return to Indonesia.

"The two Indonesian citizens who left this world are professional workers. They are foreign exchange heroes and heroes for their families. I ask that they be sent home in an honorable way," said Coordinating Minister Muhajir to the Foreign Ministry and Police Team who will take care of the repatriation process of the two bodies, citing the statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara, Wednesday, February 22.

"The bodies of the two Indonesian citizens will be dispatched to Jakarta on Wednesday local time, to be flown to Bali and Lombok a day later," said the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara.

It is known that Coordinating Minister Muhadjir arrived in Turkey along with two wide-body aircraft carrying about 80 tons of cargo of humanitarian aid from the Government of Indonesia.

The aid shipment coordinated by BNPB is the fourth wave of humanitarian assistance from Indonesia. Coordinating Minister Muhadjir and his entourage are planning to make a visit to Hatay Province, the province most affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Turkey southeast on February 6.
