BBPOM Pekanbaru Finds 11,049 Traditional Drugs Without A Circular Permit

PekanbarU - Pekanbaru Center for Drug and Food Control (BBPOM) found 129 types of traditional medicines without a distribution permit or fictitious distribution permit and containing medicinal chemicals (BKO). This drug is packaged in 11,049 pieces with an economic value of around Rp413 million."The findings were revealed in an action operation by investigators from the BBPOM civil servant (PPNS) in Pekanbaru last Tuesday with the Korwas PPNS Ditkrimsus Riau Police, the Riau Police Narcotics Directorate, the Riau Provincial Health Service and the Riau Province Satpol PP," said Head of BPOM Pekanbaru, Yosef Dwi Irwan at a press conference in Pekanbaru, Antara, Monday, February 20.Dwi said that during the operation, BBPOM Pekanbaru targeted five points which were indicated as selling points (fugitive depots), residences and storage warehouses located in Tanah Putih District, Rokan Hilir Regency.He added that an in-depth investigation of the target of this operation was carried out for six months by following up on findings in the field and public information.From these findings, the Rokan Hilir Police have arrested one suspect with the initials IN (33.5), a business owner (depot herbal) and a house that is used as a warehouse for storing illegal traditional drugs."This suspect is threatened with 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 1.5 billion for allegedly violating Article 197 in conjunction with Article 106 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning health," he said.Dwi also emphasized that the enforcement operation was a form of BBPOM's commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and foods that were at risk of health.According to him, the suspect IN has circulated and sold the illegal traditional medicine since 2018 to several areas in Riau, including Bagan Batu, Bagan Readyiapi and Dumai. with an average monthly sales turnover of around Rp. 50,000,000 - Rp. 60,000,000.He mentioned the source of procurement of illegal traditional medicines originating from Java, Medan and Jambi, for the production of various types of claningng honey kings plus, cobra india, bone flu gout, red fruit plus the crown of the god brastomolo, dug male coffee, original male squirrel pills, kapsagi, original xtra strong excavations, increasingly pills, natural spices Papua, red fruit and others.Dwi explained that the chemical medicine (BKO) is a chemical used as the main ingredient for chemical drugs commonly added in the preparation of traditional/home medicines to strengthen indications of these traditional drugs, such as the metampiron analgesic group, paracetamol (claimed to be herbal cane, pain reliever), non-steroid anti-inflammatory, phenylbutason, pyroxykam (claimed to be a pengel linu herbal medicine).For the steroid group, such as prednison, dexametason (claims gout herbal medicine, nycok, advertiser, fat herbal medicine).
