After The KKB's Security Disturbance, The Situation In The Suru-Suru Nduga District Is Safe And The Community Is Back In Activity
After the security disturbance by armed criminal groups at the end of last year, now the people of Suru-Suru District, Nduga Regency, Papua are returning home and starting their activities.
The commander of Korem 172/PWY Brigadier General JO Sembiring admitted that currently the security in Suru-suru District, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains Province, is gradually becoming conducive. "It is true that conditions in Suru-suru are getting more conducive so that people start to return to their homes," said JO Sembiring. quoted by ANTARA Monday, February 20. Previously on January 28, 2023, residents led by the head of the Suru-suru District returned to their hometowns to ensure the situation is safe or not, he explained. In fact, on Saturday 18 February a group of people carrying the Red and White Flag arrived in Kampung Suru-suru in a safe state which was greeted by Danpos Task Force Yonif R 600/Modang. He said the return of the Suru-suru residents who arrived first informed their relatives that the conditions were safe so they dared to return to their hometowns. "The TNI together with the Nduga Regency Government are trying to convince the public to return because their villages are already safe from KKB disturbances," said JO Sembiring. He said the Yonif R 600/Modang Task Force had made various efforts to ensure that the district was safe so that people could return to their hometowns.
Nduga Regency is part of Kodim 1715/Yahukimo and Korem 172/PWY, but the task force in charge is under the control of Korem 174/ATW Command. The people of Suru-suru had fled due to security disturbances carried out by the KKB in December 2021.
