The inactive regent of Central Mamberamo Ricky Ham Pagawak was brought to Jakarta today. Strict security schemes are carried out by involving Brimob personnel.

"It's safe to go (the process is brought to Jakarta, red) under Brimob," said Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri to VOI, Monday, February 20.

But it was not specified the number of Brimob personnel involved. The two-star general only explained that strict escort was carried out when Ricky Ham Pagawak from Mako Brimbob Kotaraja went to the airport.

"Today it was brought to Jakarta," said Fakhiri.

Ricky Ham Pagawak was arrested at his hiding house in Abepura, Jayapura on Sunday, February 19. He has been a fugitive since July 15, 2022.

The inactive regent of Central Mamberamo was named a suspect in the alleged bribery project in Central Mamberamo Regency, Papua. However, he fled and was allegedly assisted by TNI personnel to Papua New Guinea.

In this case, the KPK suspects that Ricky received money from contractors who wanted to get the project in Central Mamberamo. It is suspected that he pocketed money from Rp. 300 million to billions of rupiah.

In addition, Ricky was named a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering. There were a number of assets confiscated, including eight plots of land and buildings and five cars.
