Medvedev Make Sure The Top 10

JAKARTA - Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev confirmed his entry back to the top 10 in the world after beating Grigor Dimitrov in two straight sets on Saturday to win a ticket to the ATP Rotterdam final.

Medvedev, who was the sixth seed in the tournament, won 6-1, 6-2 after playing 82 minutes, converting six of the 13 break points to its first final since claiming the title in Vienna in October last year.

"It was an amazing match. The score looked easy, but the game wasn't. My physique felt like I was competing in five sets," said the former world number one as quoted by Antara from AFP.

In the 28th final of his career, Medvedev will face another semifinal winner between Italy's Jannik Sinner or Dutch wildcard tennis player Tallon Griekspoor.

Victory on Saturday lifted Medvedev one position to 10th at the current ATP. He has the opportunity to move up to ninth if he wins the final today.

"It will be amazing to win here," said Medvedev, who is also the winner of the 15 Tour tournaments.

"Every time I come here, everywhere there are photos of the champions and their names.

"I don't remember who won here for the first time, but then Arthur Ashe won it, then others like McEnroe, Borg, Edberg, and I think this tournament is truly historic. THOUGHT my name here would be amazing."
