Erick Thohir Becoming The Chairman Of PSSI, BUMN May Be A Football Sponsor?
JAKARTA - The staff of the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, said that Erick Thohir would not prohibit the involvement of state-owned companies in sponsorship of soccer matches in the country.
As is known, SOE Minister Erick Thohir was elected to lead the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) for the period 2023-2027. He garnered 64 votes and defeated the Chairman of the DPD RI LaNyalla Mattalitti.
"As long as it's profitable, we leave it to each other's SOEs. If it's profitable, why not? If not, no, it can't be unfavorable," said Arya, at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Friday, February 17.
For example, said Arya, BRI's involvement as a sponsor of the Indonesian Football League 1 competition. BRI has succeeded in increasing the number of its customers by being involved as sponsorship.
"What we know is that BRI is massive to the lower level, the community is very strong in compensation for BRI's brand and image, the value is. Customers go up, everything goes up," he said.
As previously reported, SOE Minister Erick Thohir was elected as PSSI General Chair (Ketum) for the period 2023-2027. Erick won the vote at the PSSI 2023 Extraordinary Congress at the Shangri-La Hotel, Central Jakarta on Thursday, February 16 afternoon.
However, for him, this is not a win. Erick feels that he has not won because according to him, victory is when he is able to develop Indonesian football which in fact requires the hard work and cooperation of all parties.
"I would like to thank you for the trust that has been given by voters, the Indonesian people, supporters, referees, players," Erick said when met on the sidelines of the KLB event.
"There has been no victory this afternoon. We have not won. The meaning of victory, for me, is not to occupy the position of chairman of PSSI," he continued.
According to Erick, the real victory is when he can build Indonesian football by providing comfort to supporters.
