JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives held a plenary meeting closing the third trial period for the 2022-2023 session. Thus, the Indonesian House of Representatives officially entered a recess period from February 17 to March 13.In the speech of the Speaker of the DPR which was read by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the DPR reported the results of the work and achievements during this session.Dasco said, in carrying out the function of duty in the legislative sector during this trial, the DPR RI together with the government have continued the discussion of 13 bills which are currently still in level I discussions.Meanwhile, in the budget function, the DPR RI through commissions and related board equipment has evaluated the implementation of the ministry or institution budget in 2022 and the work program for the 2023 fiscal year.Then in implementing the supervisory function, the DPR RI through tools has conducted various work meetings with the government to discuss, follow up on several problems that arise in the community, and anticipate.Among other things, related to the scarcity of subsidized cooking oil and food price increases, preparation for the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr in 2023, resolution of the problems of non-ASN employees in the regions, preparation for simultaneous general elections in 2024, protection of housing consumers, supervision of cooperatives with an open system to avoid repeated cases of embezzlement of public funds, acceleration of the fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccination and vaccination for the elderly and children, as well as preparation for the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in 2023.Dasco revealed that the DPR and the government have agreed on the costs of organizing the pilgrimage in 2023. The DPR has succeeded in rationalizing the cost of Hajj to be lower than the costs proposed by the government, which is from the Rp69.19 million proposed by the government to Rp49.8 million."This result shows that the DPR pays attention to the aspirations of the people regarding the pilgrimage," said the daily chairman of the Gerindra DPP.During the trial period III for the 2022-2023 trial year, Dasco continued, the DPR has also given approval, considering and assigning public and non-public officials to 9 candidates for members of the central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the period 2022-2025, 13 candidates for extraordinary and full-power ambassadors of the Republic of Indonesia to friendly countries, candidates for deputy governors of Bank Indonesia, as well as public accounting firms examining BPK RI's financial report."In carrying out this public and non-public feasibility test process, the DPR RI pays attention to the integrity of competence and commitment in building the goals of public institutions and services," he said.The Indonesian House of Representatives, added Dasco, also appreciated the government's work on Indonesia's diplomatic performance in 2022, so that this year the parliament will continue to encourage diplomatic efforts for various benefits.
