The Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Said That Indonesia's Oil And Gas Reserves Are Only 10 Years Old, SKK Migas: Keep On Exploration
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said Indonesia's oil and gas reserves (oil and gas) were only sufficient for the next 10 years.
In this regard, SKK Migas Secretary Shinta Damayanti said exploration was not instant, and the results had to wait the next 5 years.
"I have heard that 10 years of stay since I was in high school and until now why haven't I spent 10 years? Because we keep on exploration, so there is an increase in the number of reserves," said Shinta in a discussion with the media at the SKK Migas Office, Tuesday, September 14.
Shinta continued, with massive exploration activities Indonesia's oil and gas reserves continuing to grow and the ratio of Reserve Replacement Ratio (RR) always reaches 100 percent or even more.
According to him, if the benchmark indicates the oil and gas content is obtained through drilling. With drilling, it will be proven if the exploration carried out will be successful or not.
In his presentation, Shinta said that drilling development wells from 2021 to 2022 always doubled compared to the previous year.
"From 2020-2021-2022, the realization continues to increase and in 2023 it is quite exponential. Of course, we hope that the following year will be seen with disclosures in various places, of course, it will make the risks of some of these findings go down and will be followed up with further drilling," explained Shinta.
For information, SKK oil and gas targets the drilling of 991 wells in 2023.
