Combining Genre Dark Comedy Thriller, Catarsis For Psychological Games
JAKARTA - Series Catarsis produced by Screenplay Films will air on Vidio. This series presents the dark comedy thriller genre which is still rarely found in domestic works.
Adapted from the novel of the same name by Anastasia Aemilia, director Randolph Zaini explains the meaning of the word cataarchist itself. In the past, 'catatricism' in the medical field was a kind of way for us, like women coming months or we are spilling poison," he said during a press conference at Plaza Senayan, South Jakarta on Monday, February 13, 2023.
"One form of catarism, during the old era, was applied to drama or acting, where if we watch the tragedy we cry too, but we have our own satisfaction," he continued.
Meanwhile, in the field of psychology, Randolph explained that catarism is a process of patients who have had trauma in the past. The patient was taken to dive into the trauma in order to be free from the trauma that haunts him.
With the dark comedy thriller genre, this series is also expected to provide a new color for Indonesian audiences. The reason is, these genres are still rarely found in Indonesia.
