Persija Coach Calls Shin Tae-yong Chaotic, This Is The Trigger
Persija coach Thomas Doll criticized the Indonesian national team coach Shin Tae-yong for refusing to communicate with him at the Persija and national team virtual meeting on Tuesday, February 7.
He called Shin like aowous because he appeared in a food advertisement.
"I cannot accept that he was not present at the discussion. The Indonesian national team was represented by an assistant coach while I and all the Persija coaching staff were there. It did not show any respect," said Thomas Doll, quoted from Antara, Sunday, February 12.
According to the German tactician, Shin Tae-yong should have come because of the conversation via video call to discuss the question of summoning players to the U-20 national team.
Persija is a club whose players are most called Shin for the U-20 national team training camp (TC), which is nine people.
The TC, which is the preparation for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup, will take place on February 1-28, 2023 in Jakarta.
This makes Persija feel the need to provide other options because some of the players called are needed by the team to compete in the 2022-2023 Indonesian League 1.
"Shin should have attended because our conversation with the Indonesian national team was held around 13.00 WIB and that was lunch time, there was no training. Maybe in South Korea (the country from Shin-ed) things like what he did could work well. However, in the world, no," said Thomas Doll.
The former German League club coach Borussia Dortmund also mentioned that Shin Tae-yong is like animous because he starred in food advertisements in Indonesia, where Shin showed elements of comedy from him.
According to Thomas Doll, what Shin did was inappropriate for a national team coach.
"For me he is more like animous than a coach. That should not be done by a national team coach. I've never seen a coach do anything like that," said Doll.
