The Continuation Of The Discourse On Fuel Prices Is Announced Every Sunday, This Is Said By The Managing Director Of Pertamina

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati responded to the proposal of State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, who wants the price of fuel oil (BBM) to be announced every week.

Nicke said this was still a proposal and would not be determined because the decision regarding the policy was not Pertamina's authority.

"There has been no discussion because the authority is indeed in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources," he told the media quoted on Saturday, February 11.

Nicke did not rule out the possibility that this policy would run from the Government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to make policies and regulations regarding the proposal of the Minister of SOEs.

"If there is a policy, it might be," concluded Nicke.

Previously, SOE Minister Erick Thohir requested that the announcement of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) prices for the Pertamax type be announced once a week.

The reason, said Erick, was because Pertamax prices followed market prices. Erick also admitted that so far he has often been trapped by the bureaucracy and it is difficult to adjust market prices.

"So that the Pertamax price in Indonesia can be announced every week. In order to match market prices, don't let us be trapped in the bureaucracy, the rules have not been issued," Erick said at the press conference in early 2023, Monday, January 2.
