The Directorate of Traffic (Ditlantas) of the Southeast Sulawesi Police said that many motorists in Kendari City are suspected of deliberately withdrawing or replacing vehicle plates to avoid electronic-traffic law enforcement (ETLE) tickets."Many motorists remove number plates or fake replacements to avoid (electronic ticket) ETLE," said Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the Southeast Sulawesi Police Kombes Zainal Rio Chandra Tangkari in Kendari, Antara, Wednesday, February 8.Therefore, the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police held the Anoa 2023 Safety Operation. The target is to build public awareness in traffic so that there are no violations.The former Head of the Human Resources Bureau of the Southeast Sulawesi Police added that his party deployed as many as 400 personnel to carry out the 2023 Anoa Safety Operation."Operation Anoa 2023 is carried out with the aim of building awareness in traffic by placing personnel for regulation, guard and patrol," he said.Rio emphasized that drivers or infringing road users will be dealt with firmly, measurably, but still prioritize a humanist attitude.In addition, he said, in Operation Anoa which will be carried out from 7-20 February 2023, his party will follow up on what the public has complained about so far, such as illegal racing on several main roads in Kendari City, and the use of exhaust tracing (brong/bogar) which greatly interferes with residents' sleep.There were nine priority targets for prosecution during the operation, namely starting from two-wheeled riders not wearing SNI helmets, not wearing seat belts, against the current.Then, the exhaust tracing, riding more than one person, driving beyond the speed limit, driving underage, driving alcohol, and using a cellphone while driving."We urge the public to increase awareness of traffic order, so that the number of violations and accidents decreases," he added.
