Anticipate Accounting For Acute Kidney Failure, Tangerang Regional Government Tightens Drug Use At Health Facilities
TANGERANG - Tangerang District Health Office, Banten will increase and tighten measures to use drugs in all health facilities (faskes) in the area in anticipation of the resurgence of cases of acute kidney failure in children.
"Yes, we will still be careful, even from IDAI has issued a circular to all members to tighten supervision of the use of drugs (specifically children) in all health facilities," said Acting Head of the Tangerang District Health Office, Dr. Hendra Tarmizi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 8.
He revealed that in addition to tightening the use of drugs for children, his party will also supervise the circulation of these drugs.
Where, he continued, the supervision was carried out on drugs that were included in the list of circular letters from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and the Ministry of Health.
"So we are also currently increasing our awareness of the supervision of the drug (Prexion riot)," he said.
He said that the Tangerang District Health Office has so far not made a withdrawal of the type of PraxionAMethy drug, because from the latest information from BPOM RI that Praxion is safe to consume based on a series of tests that have been carried out using seven samples with eligible results.
"So far, we have not made a withdrawal (Prexion drug), because we have not received an official SE from BPOM. But from the results of the investigation, it is said that the drug is not dangerous," he said.
He also added that in Tangerang Regency there are currently no findings of acute kidney failure cases in children and it is hoped that the case will not be found again.
"Nothing, hopefully no more cases will be found and nothing will happen," he said.
Previously, cases of acute kidney failure or Atypical Progressive Acuterine Disorder (GGAPA) in children have resurfaced recently, after first appearing in October last year.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health noted that two residents of DKI Jakarta aged 1 and 7 were reported to have experienced GGAPA. One confirmed case died, while the other was a suspect and was still undergoing intensive treatment.
The government has also taken anticipatory actions by stopping the circulation of Praxion branded sirop drug products while conducting an epidemiological investigation regarding the exact cause of the two latest cases of GGAPA that occurred in Jakarta.
However, from the results of investigations and investigations carried out by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) on the Praxion▁Sedangkanm type drug, it is safe to consume based on a series of tests that have been carried out using seven samples with eligible results.
"From the results of the testing of the seven samples, the results are eligible. This means that they meet the provisions and standards in Indonesian pharmacopies," said Plt. Deputy for Drug, Narcotics, Psychotropics, Precursors, and Addictive Substances of BPOM Togi Junice Hutadjulu in Jakarta.
Sample testing at the BPOM National Center for Drug and Food Testing Development (PPPOMN) laboratory has met the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) so that its accuracy can be ascertained. The tests were carried out on February 2 and 3, 2023.
"The test results can be believed to have validity to support the results of BPOM's supervision," he said.
