Trade Minister Zulhas Finds 500 Tons Of Oil At The Warehouse Of PT BKP, Indicated Hoarding?

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan found as much as 500 tons of simple packaged bulk cooking oil with the oil trading brand stored in the warehouse of the company PT Bina Karya Prima (BKP).

The announcement came after Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan visited a company located in Marunda, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Jakarta Capital Special Region 14140.

Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called, said the question of his party when he found piles of lined cooking oil in the warehouse was why it was not distributed. In fact, he said, the production had been carried out since December last year.

Today we found that there are 555,000 liters or 500 tons here. This means that more than half a million liters are found here and have not been sent by the company on the basis, he said they have not received DMOs. This has been a long time since the production in December," he said in Marunda, Cilincing, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 7.

Regarding this finding, Zulhas said that his party would hand it over to the Police Food Task Force for further investigation if there were indications of hoarding.

"Of course there will be a Task Force that will handle this, the important thing is that the problem will be handled by the Task Force. But this (saved) item can be (stried first to) fulfill it in the Javanese market," he said.

Zulhas emphasized that the distribution of the oil and gas found would be focused on the island of Java. However, if excessive supply can be channeled to modern retailers and to the island of Sumatra.

"So for three days I think we can finish this (distribution), just in Java first. Because Java has the most (oil consumption), not in the modern market first. If it's still more, then (distribution to) Sumatra. If you can't, just Java first, if you can't. But in markets," he said.

Furthermore, Zulhas said that currently, Kumita is focused on the people's market. He said, his party was still limiting the sale of Oil and Small Oil in the marketplace or online or modern retail stores.

"So if modern retail is lacking, you understand. Because this oil is for the people's market first," he explained.
