Pinjol Is Still A Solution, KemenPPPA Advises Socialization Of Cooperatives To Be Intensified

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) encourages the socialization of cooperatives to be intensified so that people are not easily entangled in online loan offers, aka borrowing.

"This is what we need to socialize more. I think we need to promote the good practices of the cooperative to the public," said Plt. Assistant Deputy for Primary Gender for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of PPPA Eko Novi Ariyanti in a Media Talk event, in Jakarta, Friday, February 3, was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, cooperatives are an institution that is old and provides many reliefs for those who borrow funds.

"The cooperative does not use interest, even if there is a very small interest, and it is not too burdensome for borrowers," said Novi.

He reminded that one of the reasons why many people are entangled in borrowing is their ignorance of how to access economic resources.

"How can the public also access or get education about loans or access to economic resources not only through loans, but also through village budgets, it can also be through cooperatives," he said.

Therefore, his party asked the village government to provide access for rural communities who need funds.

"If those who live in the village, for example, need fresh funds for businesses, they can access them from BUMDes. This means that at their level they are related to access to the lowest resources around them, the village or then the cooperative can really be used by them," he said.
