Impact of Floods, Residents of Central Lombok Have Difficulty with Clean Water
PRAYA - The impact of the floods has made it difficult for the people of Lombok to get clean water. For this reason, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara provides clean water.
"Clean water logistic assistance remains on alert because there are residents who need clean water assistance", said the Head of the Central Lombok BPBD, Ridwan Maaruf, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 2.
He said the distribution of clean water during this rainy season was because many residents' wells were affected by the floods and the water could not be utilized, so it was not uncommon for residents to also ask for clean water assistance.
"This is the current condition, even though it's raining there are still residents who need clean water", he said.
He said that clean water is a basic need for the community, as well as when a flood occurs, his party will continue to distribute clean water assistance to communities affected by natural disasters.
"During floods in several villages, such as in the Mandalika circle, we provide clean water assistance every day", he said.
Meanwhile, logistics stocks for emergency aid due to natural disasters in Central Lombok are still safe for the next three months.
"We still have logistics stock, including for clean water assistance", he said.

The remaining emergency logistics stocks include rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, mats or ready-to-eat food. In addition, material logistical assistance is also still available to help residents affected by the disaster.
"For emergency logistical assistance, it will be given immediately as soon as a natural disaster occurs", he said.
He said Central Lombok Regency had currently been assigned a disaster alert status until March 2023. This was done after natural disasters such as floods, landslides and fallen trees occurred at the end of 2022.
