Joao Cancelo's Departure From Manchester City To Bayern Munich Accompanied By Issu Tak Sedap

JAKARTA - Joao Cancelo finally released his status as Manchester City defender. He is now officially anchored to Bayern Munich on loan until the end of the season.

However, Bayern have full purchase options in the summer.

His decision to leave the Etihad Stadium was recently rumored because Cancelo's relationship with his manager, Josep Guardiola, was not harmonious.

In the last three games, Pep has only put the 28-year-old in the reserve seat. The reason the defender hasn't given a goal or assist in the English Premier League since last October.

The latest news emerged that the Portuguese player also had an argument with Guardiola at the training ground. It happened after learning that he would not start in the FA Cup match against Arsenal.

Now a choice has been made by Cancelo. He decided to leave and join Bayern.

Joao Cancelo finally released his status as Manchester City defender and officially joined Bayern Munich on loan.

He then revealed the reason for joining Julian Nagelsman's team. Of course not because of a dispute with Guardiola, but Cancelo revealed different reasons.

"Bayern is a great club, one of the best in the world, and a huge motivation for me to now play with these amazing players in a team," Cancelo was quoted as saying by Livescore.com Tuesday, January 31.

"I know that this club lives for the title and wins titles every year. I am also driven by hunger for success. I will give my best for Bayern," he continued.

Cancelo's presence was also welcomed by Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic. He is happy because in the contract there is also an option to make the defender permanent.

"We are very pleased that Joao Cancelo will now play for Bayern. We have signed him on loan now and have the possibility to permanently sign him in the summer," said the director.

"Joao is a player we have been thinking about for a long time because we really appreciate his quality. He is very suitable in our system with his attacking and dynamical style of play, and his mentality and experience are very suitable for our team,"

"I believe Joao will help us in the coming weeks and months where we want to win the title," said Hasan Salihamidzic.
