Capai Indonesia Palm Oil Factory Production CapaI Capacity 17.5 Million KL
JAKARTA - Daily Chairman of the Indonesian Biofuel Manufacturers Association (Aprobi) Paulus Tjakrawan revealed that the production capacity of biodiesel in Indonesia reaches 17.5 million kiloliters (KL).
Thus, the volume of biodiesel is ensured to be sufficient for the implementation of the biodiesel program in Indonesia.
"The volume that we produce so far has a production capacity of 17.5 million KL and the total allocation for B35 in 2023 is 13 million KL. This means 75 percent of our production capacity and this theory is sufficient to support the B35 program," Paulus said in Jakarta, Tuesday, January 31.
He added that this capacity was not obtained in a short time but had been running for 17 years.
Paulus said Aprobi would also continue to increase the capacity of the production volume considering that the demand in the future will continue to grow.
"What will come in 2023 and 2024 will continue to increase the volume capacity," added Paulus.
Anticipating the additional need for biodiesel in the future, Aprobi will make preparations to provide raw materials, increase production capacity and supply of raw materials.
Aprobi will also improve the quality of biodiesel prepared, including water content and oxidation stability which currently reaches 11 hours from the previous 10 hours.
"We from the industry are trying our best to achieve that and this year in January we from the industry are already supplying it with the B35 adi standard tomorrow, just continue," Paulus continued.
In addition to improving the quality of biodiesel, Paulus bilan, Aprobi will also repair storage and transportation.
"Because even though it only adds five percent, transportation must be prepared properly. That's what we've been doing so far," he concluded.
Just so you know, February 1, 2023, the government will start implementing B35 following the success of the Biodiesel 30 percent (B30) program in reducing oil imports and saving state foreign exchange.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said that foreign exchange savings from the utilization of biodiesel in 2022 reached more than IDR 100 trillion.
Bioenergy Director Edi Wibowo on the same occasion also said that the B35 distribution target in 2023 would be greater than 13.15 million KL and would save foreign exchange around 10.75 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 161 trillion.
The B35 program is projected to absorb around 1,653,974 workers and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by around 34.9 million tons of CO2e.
