The Chinese Community In Padang Rayakan Chinese New Year 2023 With Blood Donor Activities

JAKARTA - The Chinese community is part of the Tjinta Teman Association (HTT) of Padang City, West Sumatra, holding blood donations as a social service activity held in celebrating the 2023 Chinese New Year. Deputy Chairman of HTT Padang, Albert Hendra Lukman in Padang, Sunday, said that in this Chinese New Year celebration, people thought that the celebration was synonymous with fun and his party tried to celebrate with social services. "We chose blood donors in collaboration with PMI Padang City. This collaboration has long been built because we often hold this donor action," he told Antara. According to the West Sumatra DPRD member, through this donor action, his party wanted to give a message to the people of Padang City and West Sumatra that the HTT Padang association wanted to continue to contribute to the development of humanity, social and welfare. We saw that the availability of reduced blood and PMI also contacted so we decided on this title. We only prepared facilities and medical personnel from PMI Padang, he said that in this day he targeted 500 bags of blood collected in this action and it could be more than that amount because of the high interest of the people who took part in this activity. Initially PMI prepared 20 beds for transfusions and then increased to 30 units because of the large number of residents who wanted blood donors, he said. According to him, the high public interest could be due to extensive room facilities and also comfortable for residents who did blood donors. Every time doing blood donor actions is always crowded like this, he said explaining the frequent HTT activities of social devotion to the community as a form of a sense of togetherness and a sense of kinship.

According to him, in 2009 many HTT residents were affected by the Padang earthquake and at that time a lot of help came. According to him, this is a lesson so that his party wants to continue to help in the event of a disaster. "If there is a disaster, anywhere and anytime we will contribute to distributing aid," he said.
