Surabaya Residents Asked To Use A Digital Population Identity
SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government has asked the citizens of the City of Heroes, East Java, to use a digital population identity (IKD) to facilitate licensing or when traveling.
"For example, usually when you get on the plane you must be asked to show your identity. Now with an IKD it is enough to show through the application, without having to issue a physical identity. In addition, there are many more benefits from the IKD," said Head of the Surabaya City Population and Civil Registration Service (Dispendukcapil) Agus Imam Sonhaji in Surabaya, Sunday.
According to him, the requirement to register on the IKD application is that you must already have an e-KTP, have a mobile phone based on Android, internet and can operate gadgets.
Meanwhile, how to get it, he continued, is also easy, namely just downloading the IKD application belonging to the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) through the playstore. Then open the application to fill in NIK data, e-mail, and mobile numbers.
"Furthermore, applicants will be asked for a photo of themselves (photo) without wearing glasses or masks, according to the photo on the e-KTP," said Agus.
After all the data is appropriate, then enter the scanning stage of the QR Code. To get the QR Code, registrants will be asked to come to the sub-district office or the Siola Public Service Mall, Surabaya. After that, an account activation will be activated which will be sent via e-mail.
Previously, the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, invited all residents to switch to IKD.
With the existence of IKD, he said, it will be easier for the public or private service transactions only through mobile phones.
According to Eri, IKD has many benefits in terms of public service transactions, including preventing misuse of population data and saving costs in making identities.
"Come on, all residents of Surabaya, let's use a digital population identity. There are many benefits, take care of anything just through a cellphone, everything can be realized," said Eri.
In addition, he continued, the existence of the IKD application will be easier than using the physical identity of the e-KTP. Using IKD, Eri believes, is not only an easier service, but the city government is also increasingly on target in providing assistance to the poor.
