Bintun Collision To 3 Dies, Padang Panjang Police Set Suspect Truck Driver
PADANG PANJANG - Padang Panjang Resort Police (Polres), West Sumatra named the truck driver Hino BA 8753 IU Novrian Gani (47) as a suspect in a series of accidents that occurred on the Padang-Bukittinggi road.
"The suspect is a resident of the South Coast of West Sumatra. The total number of victims reached 12 including the driver who is still being treated," said Head of the Padang Panjang Police Traffic Unit Patrol Unit, Ipda Dedi Kuswanto, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, January 27.
He said the successive accident occurred in Jorong Pasar Rabaa, Nagari Panyalaian, X Koto District, Tanah Datar, Thursday, January 26 at around 17.15 WIB, which started with a failed brake truck containing chicken feed cargo from Medan to Kiambang Padang Pariaman. He mentioned that of the 12 victims, three of them were declared dead, while material losses reached hundreds of millions.
"The victim, on behalf of Yolia Erfanda (34) from Padang and husband and wife Anwar (47) with Zuliani (45) who is a local resident at Panyalaian Tanah Datar, lost Rp. 300 million," he said.
Meanwhile, the injured victims came from nine vehicles involved and are known to come from various regions in West Sumatra.
"In addition to residents of Panyalaian Tanah Datar, one resident of Padang City, three residents of Bukittinggi City and two residents of Aia Angek Tanah Datar," he said. Currently, there are two victims who are still being treated at Yarsi Padang Panjang Hospital and one in the hospital.
