The Flag Of Half Tirings Flying In Palestine A Sign Of Funeral For Jenin Incidents

JAKARTA - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced a three-day national mourning day for Palestinians killed in the attack on the Jenin camp by Israeli forces.

"The president declared days of mourning for three days, by lowering the flag at half-mast, in memory of the martyr at Jenin's camp in the northern West Bank," the official Palestinian television channel reported as quoted by Antara, Friday, January 27.

At least nine Palestinians were killed and 20 others injured in Israeli military strikes on the occupied West Bank on Thursday (26/1), according to Palestinian sources.

Israeli forces stormed the Jenin refugee camp, causing clashes between dozens of Palestinians and the Israeli military, according to eyewitnesses.

Israel's military operation at Jenin's camp is the largest since Intifada Al Aqsa 2002.

Tensions in the West Bank have escalated in recent weeks amid intense Israeli forces to arrest Palestinians they call "fugitives" or to destroy Palestinian homes.

The raid sparked clashes with Palestinians and resulted in several casualties.
