Minister Yasonna Asks Immigration To Strengthen Cooperation To Guard Borders
JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly reminded the Directorate General of Immigration to prioritize cooperation with various parties related to securing the border of the Indonesian territory.
"The Directorate General of Immigration cannot stand alone in doing everything related to border security and law enforcement," said Minister Yasonna while leading the 73rd Immigration Bhakti Day Ceremony with the theme "New Immigration for an Advanced Indonesia" in Jakarta, Thursday, January 26, quoted by Antara.
Yasonna added that effective cooperation with various related institutions is absolute and necessary, especially with institutions with border security functions and maintaining the stability of Indonesian territory.
According to him, systemic cooperation between the Director General of Immigration and ministries and related non-ministerial government agencies (K/L) is not impossible to strengthen existing systems in safeguarding Indonesia's sovereignty.
This includes cooperation with international parties to improve system capabilities accompanied by various educational and training scholarships to improve the quality of immigration officers as human capital driving innovation.
The Professor of Criminology at the Police Science College (PTIK) advised that every Immigration person remains obedient and steadfast in carrying out the immigration function mandated by the state.
"Make the work that is carried out as an accountable worship, not only in front of the leadership or family, but also in front of God Almighty," said Yasonna.
He appreciated Immigration for going through various ages with different challenges. However, the success achieved still requires various adjustments along with the development of the times and global situations.
