Indonesia Masters 2023: Shesar Hiren's Victory Makes Istora Happy On Day Two

JAKARTA - Men's singles Shesar Hiren Rhustavito reached the second round of the Indonesia Masters 2023 after defeating India's representativeKidambi Srikanth. This victory was greeted by boisterous spectators who were present to provide support.

Playing at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 25 at noon WIB, Shesar took 39 minutes to get his opponent home with a final score of 21-10 and 24-22 matches.

This victory automatically extended the dominance of the win-loss record for Kidambi to 5-0. Two of those numbers occurred in the same event.

Shesar previously also won over Kidambi in the first round of the Indonesia Masters 2020. Meanwhile, three other victories occurred at Thailand Masters 2020, the 2019 Asian Badminton Championships, and the 2011 Junior World Championships.

Before Shesar went to the second round, Indonesian representatives in the women's doubles number, Meilysa Trias Puspita Sari/Rachel Allessya Rose, had already raised the suitcase first.

Meanwhile, on the first day yesterday, six tickets to the second round were successfully secured by the men's doubles number from eight Indonesian representatives who competed in the main round. The details are seven men's doubles and one other representative is the women's doubles.

Six of the seven men's doubles have passed, including Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. The pair eliminated another Indonesian representative, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan.

Meanwhile, the other five men's doubles that qualified for the second round were Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana.

The Indonesian representatives in the women's doubles number immediately ran aground, namely Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi. They lost against Chinese representatives, Li Wen Mei/Liu Xuan Xuan.
