NTT Police Open Other Suspect Opportunities In The OGDJroyok Police Case
The police with the initials ID, who is a suspect in the alleged abuse of people with mental disorders (OGDJ) in Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), are subject to multiple articles.
The suspect, who was charged with multiple articles for his actions, said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Police Commissioner Ariasandy, Wednesday, January 25, was confiscated by Antara.
This was conveyed by the Head of Public Relations in response to the progress of the investigation into the alleged beating and abuse by a number of police officers against OGDJ in Lewoleba City, Lembata Regency. The victim was reported injured.
He said the investigation into the case of violations committed by police officers was still ongoing even though there were already suspects.
"There will likely be a new suspect in this case after the determination of one suspect," he said.
The former South Central Timor Police Chief said that his party gave the Lembata Police Chief the opportunity to work on uncovering the case.
"Of course, there needs to be a process for further disclosure. For that, just be patient, where will the suspect release from later," added the Head of Public Relations.
Regarding the layered articles imposed on members of the police with the initials ID, article 170 concerning beatings and article 351 concerning persecution with the threat of a sentence of more than five years in prison.
If he is really proven guilty, added Ariasandy, there will definitely be a violation of the code of ethics so that it will also be processed according to the rules of the National Police institution.
The NTT Police, said Ariasandy, appreciated the performance carried out by the Lembata Police in uncovering cases of beatings and persecution of ODGJ.
Previously, a team of investigators from the Lembata Police on Monday, January 23 had named a suspect in the alleged beating and mistreatment of OGDJ in Lembata.
The suspect is a member of the police who is on duty at the Lembata Police Station.
