Indonesia Masters 2023: Minions Winning, Follow Sabar/Reza To The Second Round
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon managed to record a victory in the petama Indonesia Masters 2023 round. The Minions followed Sabar Gautama/Mohamad Reza who had already qualified for the second round.
Appearing at court 2 Istora Senayan on Tuesday, January 24 afternoon WIB. Kevin/Marcus only needed 30 minutes to secure a straight two-game victory over South Korean representatives Seo Seung-jae/Kang Min-hyuk with a score of 21-17 and 21-12.
At the beginning of the first game the Minions could open the numbers first, but the South Korean representatives followed a few points ahead. Ahead of the initial interval, it was Kevin/Marcus' turn to catch up until they finally lead 11-9 in the first interval.
After the first Minun dropped, the world's number one men's doubles returned to step on the gas, this time they managed to collect five points. With that capital, the Minions' steps were smoother to win in the first game over Seo/Kang with a score of 21-17.
In the second game, Kevin/Marcus were again three points ahead because of the opponent's mistake in positioning the shuttlecock. This situation continues to be used by the Indonesian pair to trick the opponent, both of them winning again in the second interval with a score of 11-9.
The Minions tried to appear consistent after the break, their efforts made the opponent make a successful mistake. The South Korean representatives seemed to be struggling to catch up with the numbers that Kevin/Marcus had secured who finally won 21-12.
Thankfully with today's results, even though the opponent plays well we can win calmly. They are not easy to beat, they are also superior in the country. After this we will stay focused to perform even better," said Kevin Sanjaya after the match.
Previously, the men's doubles opened the first round, Sabar Gautama/Mohamad Reza managed to qualify for the advanced round. They won over Dutch representatives Ruben Jille/Ties Van Der Lecq through a 52-minute battle which ended with a score of 21-18 19-21 and 21-19.
