Supply From Outside, NTB Is Called The Favorite Region For Drug Circulation

MATARAM - Most of the disclosure of drug cases in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), it is known that the prohibited items are supplied from outside and make NTB a favorite place for narcotics trafficking.

NTB Police Chief Inspector General Djoko Poerwanto said that his area was one of the targets of the drug trafficking market from large syndicates.

"So, the 5 kilograms of marijuana arrested by the Mataram Police Team must come from outside the region. Not from NTB, only consumers in NTB," Djoko said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 24.

With the disclosure that began with a follow-up to public reports, Djoko invited to continue to jointly eradicate drug trafficking in NTB.

"Don't hesitate to report it to us immediately if you find or suspect that there are activities related to drug trafficking," he said.

The Head of the Mataram Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Mustofa, who accompanied the NTB Police Chief, assured that his party is still developing a network of 5 kilograms of marijuana that was revealed on Sunday, January 22 in the Dasan Agung area, Mataram City.

"We are chasing it upstream. So, we are still developing this case," said Mustofa.

From the disclosure of this case, Mustofa also said that his party continues to promote prevention activities by routinely providing education and socialization about the dangers of drugs to the community, especially young people in Mataram City.

"We also carry out prevention efforts in eradicating this circulation through coordination with the government," he said.

The case of drug trafficking with evidence of 5 kilograms of marijuana was revealed after the Mataram Police Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) team arrested four people who were included in a circulating network in the Dasan Agung area, Mataram City.

Of the four people, it was revealed that a perpetrator who controlled evidence of 5 kilograms of marijuana and 13.74 grams of crystal methamphetamine was a Public Protection Unit (Satlinmas) officer. The middle-aged man has the initials SR.

From the arrest of SR with drug evidence as a result of a search at his home, the police managed to arrest members from the SR network. They are still in the same neighborhood in the Dasan Agung area, Mataram City.
