Jokowi Invited Solo Mayor To Visit Solo Safari, New Tourism Destinations In Surakarta

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) believes that Solo Safari, which he visited with his family on the sidelines of the collective leave on Monday, January 23, will become a new tourist destination in Surakarta, Central Java. This visit was also carried out by President Jokowi to fulfill the invitation of Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka to directly review Solo Safari, which is the result of the revitalization of the Solo Zoo or Taru Jurug Animal Park (TSTJ) and the plan will only be opened to the public starting Friday, January 27. "I was invited by the Mayor to see the improvement of Taman Jurug, which is now Solo Safari. I see it is very good, although it has not been finished it will become very good and become a new tourist destination in the city of Solo," Jokowi said in a statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Monday, January 23. The President appreciated the efforts of the Surakarta City Government to revitalize productive assets in his area. The Head of State also claimed to have received a report from the Mayor of Surakarta that a number of parks of entertainment and education had been and would be built in the area he once led. "I told Mr. Wali there is Balekambang, later there will be a night market that is in Gatot Subroto, so there is a new place, there is a Techno Park visited by young children," said Jokowi. On the same occasion General Manager Solo Safari Shinta Adithya believes that the play park he manages will be one of the new icons of Solo City.

Shinta said that Solo Safari is targeted to change tourist destinations from just culinary tours to other tours in Solo. "Maybe if so far people come to Solo, the focus is only the culinary, later when there is Solo Safari, hopefully it can bring in more tourists to stay longer in Solo and become an icon of Solo City," said Shinta. Shinta said that phase I of the TSTJ revitalization process to Solo Safari has reached 90 percent and will be opened to the public starting Friday, January 27. "Hopefully Solo residents can enjoy the tours that we have prepared for their citizens and can be a pride for all of us," he said. TSTJ revitalization to Solo Safari was announced by the Mayor of Gibran on February 22, 2022 with an investment value of more than Rp. 20 billion and partnered with Taman Safari Indonesia.
